Husqvarna Model 1896 Swedish Mauser bolt action rifle, 6.5 x 55 caliber, serial #662149. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 24” barrel. The barrel and action retain the majority of their militaryblued finish with the front ring dated 1942. The rifle has all matching visible serial numbers other than the floor plate. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with normal storage and handling marks.
The buttends with a smooth metal butt plate. The bore is good, the action crisp and markings are sharp on this desirable Swedish Mauser.

My first hunting rifle was a.30-06 my gunsmith father and I built on a World War II German 98 Mauser action. I was a teenager, and with handloads and peep sights it accounted for everything from woodchucks to deer.Many years later, during a visit to the local gun shop, I spotted an old commercially made Husqvarna Mauser sporting rifle.
